WHY: Cultured foods can help heal your body and bring healing to your home! Cultured foods refers to items that are fermented or cultured with the help of beneficial bacteria or yeast. Examples include yogurt, kefir, kimchi, sauerkraut, kombucha, and sourdough bread. Many benefits result from consuming fermented foods including:
- Fermented foods are rich in beneficial bacteria, known as probiotics, which support a healthy gut microbiome, which aids in digestion, improved immune function, & mood regulation. Fermented foods are a much more effective and budget friendly source of probiotics compared to capsules/supplements.
- Helping improve digestion by increasing the availability of nutrients and helping alleviate symptoms of digestive issues such as bloating & constipation.
- Higher availability of certain vitamins that are more bioavailable or absorbable such as B vitamins and vitamin K.
- Support for the immune system by promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria that strengthen your body's defenses against infections and diseases.
- Promoting mental health and better sleep, improve mood, and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. I’ve felt this 100 percent!

Recommendations:
Eat at least 1 tablespoon of fermented veggies per day. Make them at home if possible or buy high quality items from health food stores because the canned or jarred versions will not have the same healing effect as freshly made.
Add kefir to smoothies, puddings, pancakes, crackers, etc
