Calling All Ice Cream Lovers!

Do you love ice cream? If you are the person who can eat it every day, you've got to check this out!

I know because I was that girl eating ice cream every night with a little bit of milk on it to make it get those little icy crystals that make it even better--saying it was a treat for my kiddos when really it was for me (and them)! Double chocolate moose tracks was my favorite!

When I decided i wanted to lose some of the baby-weight and mama belly a little while after having baby three, I was seriously thinking how will I ever give up my ice cream addiction. And to be real, I didn't at first but just tried to eat less. I'd go for a smaller glass of milk and ice cream, but I'd still be swiping extra spoon fulls and not really following my smaller portion pledge.

But I wanted to do better. The only thing that truly kept me from eating it was just not buying it anymore. And that is the best tip for breaking a food addiction I've heard. Don't want to or can't eat something anymore? Don't buy it! Easier said than done sometimes but it truly helped me!

And it was hard, but when you have a specific goal you're trying to reach, that's pretty big motivation! And I wanted to be the size that I was before having babies, to feel like me again, which meant losing more than 40 lbs or so! The healthier eating guidelines I was using still allowed ice cream, but I made myself cut it out and quit buying it because it was a habit that I needed to break.

Then I found this game changer and here's where you ice cream lovers have to listen up.

Nice Cream! Have you heard of it? A guilt-free, healthy version of ice cream! And it's seriously delicious!!

So wish I had known about this while I was eating half gallon after half gallon or bucket of ice cream! Can you guess the secret ingredient that makes up most of few good ingredients in nice cream? I would never have guessed because you can't taste it.

Frozen bananas!

Even better, I found that you could make it almost any flavor you love! That was chocolate for me! I could eat it every day just like with regular ice cream!

Here are a few tips for making it, and I’m throwing in my new favorite recipe that is perfect for the this Fall season.

- Save your over-ripe bananas!

- Peel them before you put them in the freezer. Just throw them in a ziplock and you'll be ready to blend them up for an even better use than banana bread!

- Experiment with tastes you love. For some people it's peanut butter, others are chocaholics like me.

Here's a new favorite recipe I made up this week as an after-school snack for the kids and they loved it too!

Ingredients

- 3 frozen bananas - 1 cup coconut milk (or milk of your choice) - 1/2 cup pumpkin puree

- Sprinkle of pecans (or choice of nuts)

- Sprinkle of cinnamon

Directions

1. Blend bananas, milk and pumpkin until smooth.

2. Pour in bowl to serve immediately as soft serve or freeze 2-3 hours to make it scoopable.

3. Top with pecans and cinnamon or chocolate chips if you need that sweet chocolate too!

Give it a try and I'd love to hear what you think! Just message me at my page or contact me here. I know you won't be disappointed and hope this little ice cream swap helps you still savor the sweet side of life while hitting some of your fitness goals too!
