You are Never Alone
I see you over there sweet soul sister. Only you don’t really feel that way, do you?
You feel empty, alone and inadequate, maybe? Like how am I going to make it through? Weak and tired down to your toes. Like a child inside but having to do all that adulting while you fake that you know what you’re doing in front of the real child or kiddos in your house.
You feel like there’s so much more you want to do and be better at, but it just feels impossible because everything you’re doing now feels like a miss so how could you possibly squeeze anything else in? You’d just fail or do that half-way too, right?
You look at your marriage and desperately want more.
You feel like you have a greater purpose and know there’s more in life for you but what?
You look at your friendships or lack thereof and really want to connect but how?
You look at your work life and feel you have to do it instead of wanting to do it.
You look at your mommin’ and just feel tired and unsure.
You look mostly at the mistakes you make in front of your kids and then just want to curl up and cry…to have someone else rock you for a while instead of the other way around.
You just feel alone even though you probably never or rarely really are, right? With kids or someone always pulling on you it seems?
Then you feel guilty for feeling all of it. All of that.
But hear this more than all that other chatter in your head cause here’s the real deal sweet friend and sister.
You are strong and you are never alone.
Because we are here with you. And we know what it feels like.
On those days and moments when you just don’t feel like enough. When you lose your cool with littles and want to cry afterward. When you want a break and need it desperately but you know it’s not gonna happen and even if it did, you’d feel like you’re falling farther behind.
But even better than that-- having mamas and someone else getting it, getting you -- you have a heavenly father and creator of all you see is with you to hold your hand, pull you up and lend his unending strength. Listen carefully, lean on him, and you will hear Him say
YOU ARE NEVER ALONE. You are STRONGER. I AM WITH YOU and I love you.
You are enough.
You are amazing.
You are strong.
Just read and remember Isaiah 41:10....I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
